DayBrief: How it works
DayBrief is a monday.com app that emails each enrolled person one short morning digest of their own work. It pulls everything that is overdue, due today, or due this week across every board that person can see, groups it by board, and sends it on the schedule you set, in each recipient’s own time zone. monday already shows this as “My Work” inside the product. DayBrief pushes the same per-person view to email so people see it without opening monday.
What lands in the inbox
Each digest is a single email with three sections:
- Overdue: items whose due date has already passed.
- Due today: items due on the recipient’s local calendar day.
- This week: items due within the next seven days.
Items are grouped by board, with urgency markers and plain-language dates. On a day with nothing due, DayBrief stays silent: no empty email, no inbox noise, so every digest that does arrive is worth opening.
Setting it up
DayBrief is an account-level app, so one admin sets it up once for the whole account.
- Install it as an account admin from the monday marketplace. DayBrief asks for four read-only scopes only (your profile, boards, users, and account). It never writes to your boards, and there is no third-party login to connect.
- Open the Account Settings view. Go to Administration, then Apps, then the DayBrief row, then the Settings tab. This admin-only view is the whole control surface.
- Pick a schedule. Turn the master switch on, then set the time zone, the send hour, and the weekdays briefs should go out.
- Enroll recipients. In the recipients table, toggle on the people who should receive a brief, then click Save. DayBrief never adds anyone automatically. Nothing is sent to anyone who is not enrolled here.
Once saved, each enrolled person gets their digest at the chosen hour in their own time zone. Quiet hours and people who already received today’s brief are skipped, so no one gets a duplicate.
Managing your own digest
Every digest has a “Manage your digest” link in the footer. Recipients use it to change their own preferences at any time, without needing an admin.
Privacy
DayBrief stores only configuration and delivery metadata, such as who is enrolled and when a digest was last sent. Task content is never retained. Board items are read at send time, formatted into the email, and then dropped. Email is delivered through Mailjet, an EU email processor. See the Privacy Policy, the Data Processing Agreement, and the sub-processor list for the full detail.
Plans
The Free plan covers up to 3 recipients and 30 emails per month. Pro raises that to 25 recipients, guests included, and adds a weekly digest.
