Wix deposit apps compared (2026)
Every guide that ranks for this question ends with "use an app from the App Market" and names none. So here are the apps, and the two routes that need no app at all.

What is in the App Market
Searching the App Market for "deposit" on 10 September 2026 returned eleven apps. Two of them take a deposit on a Wix Stores order.
One of those two is mine. I built Deposits & Partial Payments, so read its row as the maker describing the product, not as a neutral review. The other is Order Deposits by Baseplate Digital, and every cell about it was read from its own listing on the date above. A field that listing does not print says so.
The top result is Wix Table Reservations, which books restaurant tables. The rest are rentals, rent collection, ticket booking and a QR code poster tool. Two apps is the whole field.
Search from inside the App Market rather than from the wix.com search box, which renders an unrelated app called Search.

The two apps differ most in where the money changes hands. Mine splits the checkout total into Pay Now and Pay Later, so the deposit is charged inside the Wix checkout. The Order Deposits listing describes a deposit link the buyer opens right after checkout, which is a second step for the buyer.
Three things on that listing have no equivalent in my app. Buyers accept your deposit terms before paying, with a timestamped copy of the wording they were shown. It warns you before you ship an order with money still owed. And it sets deposit rules per collection, where mine works per product or across the store. If a written record of the terms matters in your trade, that is a real reason to prefer it.
The workaround that costs nothing
Add a product called something like "50% deposit", price it at half the real price, and say in the description that the rest follows when the item is ready. When the work is done you write a Wix Invoice for the other half. This has been the Wix forum's standard answer for years.
What it breaks is the order. Your reports show a deposit rather than what you sold, and every balance is an invoice you write, remember and chase. At two or three custom orders a month that is fine.
Custom code with Velo
Wix has a pricing service plugin that lets custom code decide what a line item costs at checkout. Take this route if your deposit rule is specific to your trade and no app covers it.
It needs someone who writes Velo, and it needs them again when Wix changes its checkout. It also stops at the deposit, so budget for the balance as a second piece of work.
Do not buy an app if
- You take a handful of custom orders a month, because the deposit product and an invoice is enough at that volume.
- You run Wix Bookings and collecting the rest in person suits you, because Bookings already takes the deposit online.
- You want to be paid in full on day one, because that is buy now pay later rather than a deposit.
- You need one deposit rule for the whole store and nothing else, because both free plans cover that.
Short answers
- How many Wix apps actually take a deposit on a store order?
- Two. The App Market's own search for "deposit" on 10 September 2026 returned Order Deposits by Baseplate Digital, and mine. The other nine are reservations, rentals, rent collection and ticketing.
- What is the free way to do it?
- Sell a separate product priced at the deposit and send a Wix Invoice for the rest. Every balance is then an invoice you write and chase by hand.
- Which routes keep the real product on the order?
- Both apps. The Order Deposits listing says one real order with correct tax, inventory and reporting, and mine puts the real product on the order. The deposit product route does not.
- Do any of them collect the balance automatically?
- No. Both send a payment link somebody has to pay. Mine sends up to three reminders on the days you set. Automatic reminders are not stated on the Order Deposits listing.
- What do the free plans cover?
- Mine tracks 25 open balances at a time, and per-product rules and reminders need the paid plan. Order Deposits prints one store-wide rule, payment links and an outstanding balance list.
